Trying to launch a new boat brand is going to be a real challenge. If a little exposure for a week or two helps out a regular forumite then I'm all for it.

I'm sure it will all die down in due course.

Westlines? I've been looking forward to seeing some pics as well. Anyone got any?

Is the yellow foredeck tower option still available?

Forum rules state " commercial links are tacitly allowed in signatures only (they contravene forum rules but if you are subtle about it we will exercise a certain use of Nelson eye patch)."

In my humble view the introduction to Westline boats on the forum could hardly be called subtle. As it was approved by the Moderator it has presumbly set a precedent for the future. So if any other forumites are in the boating business they might as well go ahead and take advantage.

Lets have a big splash on those smart Absolutes.

Cheers.

I know what i'm on a boating forum for, and it's not to erm.. not look at pics of boats /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I can practically hear AlistairR writing a reply as I type /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Absolutely not, especially not new ones that we haven't seen in the UK, doing tight turns at high speed. Dammit, man, what do you think this is: a Boat Forum?

Well it never did me any good /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif, never sold a bloomin thing to any of you tight so and so's.

Take a chill break, its a boating forum /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif somehow I think you may be exposed to pictures of some boats, your choice to look at them or not, personally, I would love to see more of the trade showing real life pictures on here and if it be so to also give them some stick too (me included). How cool would it be to have the MD of Fairline or Sunseeker on here! direct access to the man/ men himself......cor you you could have some fun then /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Exactly, If people mention eBay or Sunseeker or Fairline when doing reports of their holidays etc, nobody calls it advertising for the company, so what is the difference? <---- Thats a rhetorical question, I'm going to get back to looking at boats/working now /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I used to give Clive of Suncoast a rough time when he was starting his training business, as he pushed it quite hard, but he took it on the chin, and still pushed the boundaries, and now it's up and running he doesn't take anywhere near the same liberties.

Fledgling businesses need a bit of help, and we are all boaty here, and Absolutes and Westlines will feature a bit for a while, then all calm down.

Now if anyone knows of any small and medium sized businesses that need some independent advice or assistance, buying or replacing computer systems, then ...<cough>

Exactly, man, you can't please some people.

1. moany punter at boat show ......' why do you people never consult with us real boaters when designing a boat'. Well wouldn't be brill if a builder posted pics of new designs or pre production modelsls on here......'hey guys what do you think, give us some feedback what you like don't like'.....methinks the forum would burst! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

2. I'd love to see real life piccies of XYZ boat not the carefully selected ones in a brochure, example you never see sports cruisers with their canopies up in brochures shots.

3. So a new dealer starts up and is active here, a while down the line a newbie asks what are they like and whats this dealer like....your PM box would be full and you'd get the full sp within minutes ........good, bad and the ugly.

4. need help with some problem or advise.........PM boatydealer1 he'll sort you out

5. I'd be inclined to think that any dealer on here that is active and is actually out there boating his heart out in his free time will be a fairly like minded boater, probably a bit anoraky even but you know he's in it for the love of it as well as a living.

Hey ho, for me we are all one happy family, the world is full of cynics and some nasty people, crooks and liars but with the odd exception I haven't found in general 'genuine' boaty people to be so, jez is a dealer, your an owner, he's a fixer, yer man there is a marine sparky, himself is an instructor and the lanky fellow over there looking like a bean pole sells sexy Italian stuff......feck it!, lets all have a party /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My two cents here but instead of saying there is to much exposure to Westlines. We all should be giving Jez a pat on the back for taking the leap into a new business and for bringing a new product to the people of this forum and the UK for that matter, and like thats been said it is a boating forum so why not show new products.

We all come on here posting about our new boats or when we are selling trading up and we all post pictures of them so what’s the difference?

By the way very nice looking boats they are too.

...........damn commercialism!, always gets in the way of a good boat picture /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, I'll take it off if you guys like but isn't it nice to see something yonks before the mags and the world and his wife sees it, so you are way ahead of the game, is that good or bad?.

Well that might not be a problem, we are taking some UK clients out to Cannes in a few months for a first look and a sea trial before production starts, so if you want to provide input into a new model come along /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
