Was anyone else at East Head on Fri night?

I did not know there was anything to pay to anchor in this area. Is there a limit to the area where one is liable to pay? Is it only mobos who pay? (He did not ask us, nor did he seem to be visiting other sailing boats). I would probably not have anchored there had I known I might have to pay...

Chichester Harbour dues - in theory I believe any boat entering the harbour has to pay. Boats based there have to pay an annual rate and bear a sticker to show they've coughed up. No commercial traffic, see, so the whole Conservancy organisation, buoyage, etc has to be funded by leisure use.

In practice, I've heard that they usually only bother to collect dues from boats anchored at East Head, since there are a lot of them all packed close together to make the job easy. And it sounds like even then they don't tap everybody.

They wouldn't tap the ones that have already paid and display the sticker would they?
