Thanks for your comments. I have had big trouble with mine and I cannot find anyone who knows anything about them. Looks like Im going to rip them out and go the Bennets route also. If there is anyone who can help out there I'll hang on a bit longer.

Depends what the problem is that you have ? Which lights are illuminated/flashing ? I have them and have replaced 3 blade units in the past five years. I think it fair to say the internal plastic cogs on the unit are not very robust…….. when they work I find they work well, they just don’t last.

I had the QL trim tabs on my last boat, had to replace the blades and drivers (integrated unit not serviceable) three times before I sold the boat on. I would never have them again. The premise is that when morred the blades are auto retracted and they avoid marine growth which will prolong the life. In reality the marine growth hindered the extension of the blade and buggered up the mechanisms upon retraction. Not a well engineered product.

My Corvette had a QL power unit on conventional Ram tabs. The one issue I had was a failed solenoid, which I replaced with a similar sized coil found after quite an eBay search.

I did have a separate issue with failed Ram return springs, for which Small Order Springs in Uxbridge provided the solution, and ingenuity the solution of how the replace / preload the f**king spring under tension !!!
