Modern day england ,Cos he is in a public place and to expect that is simply foolish
Not acceptable anywhere.Surely the sort of deplorable incident described has no place in boating?
All civil offences I suspect so nowt to do with the Police. Rather like standing on cracks in the pavementExceeding the 5 knots speed limit and excessive wash likely to cause damage to both moored craft and river banks.
Its all in the Mudway bye laws. 1924.

14a/b should do nicely for a start and then 52.
Appears they can confiscate the vessel until the fine of a fiver is paid.
The lock staff can and do request the assistance of the police to carry out their duties.

Sir I deplore violence of any kind , it seems when you described the boat captain it sounded like was hammered , so anyone in that condition cannot fight , especially on a pontoon . BI’ve very glad to have made real friends on this forum. And I’m glad I’m a small part of their world.
If knocking someone to the ground with a punch to the face and kicking them when they are down isn’t violent in your world, I’m very glad I’m not part of yours.

Not me.The yoof messing about in boats are the future of our hobby…don’t judge them too harshly..we were once just like them

I did say I’d seen the video. I clearly saw the punch and the kick. So it seems you are calling me a liar.Sir I deplore violence of any kind , it seems when you described the boat captain it sounded like was hammered , so anyone in that condition cannot fight , especially on a pontoon . B

Fair enough I missed that you were being sarcastic.Well Els in my world there is no fights everything is seen is a joke ,and if you don't like having the pis taken out of you ,it may be a northern thing . But remember it's you that is boating in a world of violence, not me.

100% agree.I've been boating since I was 10 years old, but never like that.

Really, I am glad to say I would like to agree with you but we would then both be wrongCos he is in a public place and to expect that is simply foolish
I doubt that the yobs attended any RYA courses.100% agree.
Many of us were virtually bought up "on the water" and had drummed into us the various etiquettes by the "old hands",one of which was to look ahead and slow down if your wash was likely to be problem or to even inconvenience somebody , good practical reason for this, it was small world , and you were very likely to meet the chap you had caused a problem to shortly afterwards and a frank exchange of views was likely.
Can remember great importance being given to the shapes of various bits of metal bobbing around on the water, names to call the front and back of your boat but nothing regards good manners when attending any RYA " How To Drive ones TSMY " course.
WowIs it really violent, a small punch up
Well if I was at both offences, the first thing I would do is try to stop it , not walk on by or video it .Wow
I remember around 20 years ago a fight started outside a pub as we were walking past, two lads attacking another lad. It was terrifying, the sound of the punches hitting his face, and the kick to the head when the poor lad was on the ground will never leave me. And I used to be a boxer in my youth.
I don't know what you would class as violent.
If you new me ,I can't talk my way out of a fight ,but I can talk myself in oneStop wriggling
