Be careful if you need an ec unit fixed. Do no go near a company called Viretronics as they do not fix them they make them worse and you can never contact anyone to actually talk to.
Hopefully ybw will allow this post as people need to be aware of this company as they are not genuine.

I would very much like you to confirm the contact number name and address that you used as they haven't replied to me. They have made 2 units totally unusable and it's now 10 months and several returns. They have now stopped all communication with me hence me warning others.
They actually do not have a premises apart from a normal house postal address in Derby. The man who calls himself John Nigel never replies and they will charge VAT but aren't registered with HMRC.
You can all make your own minds up I'm just warning you. I suggest not sending or spending anything until you actually manage to speak to a human non recorded voice when you call Viretronics .
Be careful they use other companies that you might call to reccomend Viretronics and pass your number on to them. One being EC Express. You will then get a text and it'll starts there
If you use them then it's your choice you have been given true good advice here

Currently Viretronics is being reported to trading standards and HMRC along with other organisations to investigate this "company"
Use them at your own peril and it is common practice for them to trace negative comments about Viretronics and write their own reviews.
Be interested to know where this so called fixed boat is based to see it it actually existes there

Did you ever resolve this? I'm outside the UK and if there's an entity to report issues to about breach of contract, I'd like to know. ECU allegedly repaired, I paid for, and then "shipping issue" led to delay, change of method of shipping to Royal Mail with a tracking number, but that number shows the ECU was never delivered to Royal Mail. The ECU was repaired by viretronics as of May 4 and it is now June 16. They are ignoring my very polite inquiries about the status, so now I'm afraid I've been scammed. I have no problems revising this post if and when viretronics addresses the issue. Thanks for any assistance you may be able to provide.

Viretronics are an utter joke.
This so called "national company" is, I suspect, a one man band run from a garden shed at best.
You send your unit to a residential address in Derby, where the highly praised and skilled "Derby Team" set about knackering your ECU.
You then receive an email with a shoddy receipt and bank transfer details...You'll be really impressed, trully the work of a well respected company..I thought it was utterly professional and couldn't wait to pay my bill.
Your fully repaired and "exhaustively" tested unit then gets sent back to you in piss poor Fleabay style packaging for you to unwrap, fit back to your car and then discover it doesn't work!!
So you try phoning the so called helpline, for it to ring out before a generic automated message informs you that this multi award winning company are closed for the day and the helpline is a made in China knock off.....
So an email is sent to the top man himself...Mr John Nigel...head of the engineering department no less....what an honour!!
He then proceeds to feed you a diet of lame excuses,a smattering of bullshit and a hand on heart promise that the "Derby Team"have been "instructed" by him to thoroughly test and rebuild the ENTIRE unit upon it's arrival back to the previously noted residential address,at your own expense of course!
So now you can sleep easy, knowing that this specialist organisation, who have all the latest "top notch" testing facilities by the way, have the job in hand..and are putting their expertise into rebuilding your unit, for the second time......what could possibly go wrong???
Well.....time passes.......and you get a little pissed off...again..so you give the top brass a shout..via email of course ,as the Chinese cheapo helpline is now just ringing..and you eventually get a response from Mr Nigel again, telling you that your unit is on the test bed and is a stones throw away from completion!!
Full of excitement you wait again...for another 2 weeks..then it's back to John for another serving of crap!!
This time I'm informed that one of his "top engineers" was assulted and they were forced to temporarily close the entire company.
Now,being a national company with branches in Swansea,Aberdeen(where I live) and Derby no less, and claiming to supply dealers nationwide and having experienced "unimaginable growth" you would think this powerhouse of an engineering company would manage to ride out this storm without being brought to its knees.
Alas no......and when the great John Nigel is then asked where abouts in Aberdeen his premises are, things go eerily quiet.
Enter the "Derby Team",some 3 weeks after venting my frustration at the sheer lack of contact,I'm comforted by the words..in email format....of John Nigel, the great!!
He tells me "no need to worry,we'll have your unit done by Friday........which came and went,as did yet another week.
Then, out of the blue,my ecu arrives, this time in a slightly better class of retarded packaging....which really made me feel as though these guys had gone the extra mile this time...it would be well worth the wait!!
Can anyone guess what happened next??
6 points to all those who guessed correctly, yes it STILL doesn't work, however this time it has returned with a distinctive burning smell.....probably from its exhaustive testing session.
So a small word of caution to all those who are tempted by the shite on the VILEtronics website, its all utter crap....send your ECU to me instead.I haven't got the "top notch testing gear" or a "Derby Team" to back me up,but I guarantee to fix it as well an Mr Nigel ever could, and at least I will send it back to you in a proper box in half the time..now you cant say fairer than that!!!!

Update to my story: finally received my ECU without the promised printout showing proof Viretronics could communicate with it. Doesn't work. No evidence anything was done other than stickers added to case saying warranty void if removed. If there is a UK entity to report this fraud to, I'd like to know since Viretronics has gone dark and do not appear to exist any longer. I cannot contact anyone to complain let alone attempt a claim under the warranty.
