I just ordered one then three but decided to ask consumer advice first. If you try and do it you might get it at that price but Compass don't have to sell it to you. As the guy said, there is nothing to lose. Also Compass have got 24hrs from the order to rectify their website!

The short answer is: extremely unlikely. Did you notice in the conditions of sale the minimum order value of £50?

BTW the postage was Estimated at £19.50

I think the £50 minimum order thing is for shipping goods abroad due to £5.00 handling charge they have to pay - they couldn't have minimum order charge of £50 for UK mainland otherwise how could they sell things that cost less? it wouldn;t be viable... would it?

Anyway keep us updated, I'm sure they have a clause in their T's and C's somewhere though /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

If they don't agree to sell at that price, give em hell!

"You cannot make a shop sell you anything if it does not want to. In civil law when goods are priced and are on display in a shop this is called “an invitation to treat.” This means that the shop is inviting you – the customer – to make an offer to buy the goods. It is up to the shop if it will or will not accept your offer. You have offered to buy the television but the shop has not accepted your offer so there is no contract.
However the shop may have committed a criminal offence in that it has goods for sale at a price at which they are not available. If you are unhappy at how the shop is displaying prices which may be misleading you should contact Consumerline on 0845 600 62 62. Consumerline will take your details and pass your complaint on to the Trading Standards Service which can investigate such complaints."

Oars appear to be extra ......outrageous ..... probably they're £349.96 /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

in order to make up the £50 minimum I tried to order 1667 of them but I coulg only order 999, so 999 of the one and 668 of the other.

Interesting. Their confirmation email thanks me for my order & gives me an order number but doesn't explicitly say they have accepted the order.

Again, we wait & see.

But then the £13 postage rather "spoils" the deal by upping the price 43000% ! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Plus £6.60 for the delivery
Still less than 20 quid.

For Thruppence I'll have a few.
Fit a handle to one and use it as a wheelbarrow!
Second one, take to lake, with 12 bore, and use it to creep up on ducks.
Third one, boat tender?
