The full Cape Horn experience being served up, for Sam G. For his rounding, later today
And I'm back.
Ding dong battle at the front with Charlie finding some wind where there appeared to be non! I'm saddened that Sam G didn't go west of the Falklands as I thought he had pulled a blinder round the cape but he chose to give it all back and rejoin the group. Sam D will get lucky not because of her northern route but because of the timing at the cape which will stop the two in front of her. I don't see any gains for Seb S and I think Thomas R will loose a lot of his advantage to the chasing group.
I used to fly up and down the south Atlantic to the Falklands a couple of times a week in my RAF days and the weather at 35000' was just as tricky as it is at sea level. Anyones guess what might happen next.
Tis the way of the world. Imagine when someone dares to build an offshore AC75!Sobering statistic: Since crossing the start line, Charlie & Yoann (top foilers) have, on average, sailed 22% faster than Jean Le Cam (top archimedean). Based on a rhumb line course distance of 24,300nm, and the distances to the finish shown in today's 18.00 sched.

Do they need to - when they have already had 100 plus foot fully foiling boats whizz around the world ..... solo!Tis the way of the world. Imagine when someone dares to build an offshore AC75!
