hi all, I have reciently aquired a 40ft twin screw 1950/60 wooden boat in bad need of some major timber replacement,a friend and i have allready started this and r well on the way,all the rotten wood is now removed and new mahogony and oak replaced im having some solid frames formed approx 3inch by 4inch by a reputable shipwright and once these r installed i can replace approx 60 ribs,as she has been in tidal water the last 20 yrs and mostly stuck high banked up so most of the time in mud this is why i have rib damage, plus when she was taken out the water ,because she had no strenth above deck level it was only the hull that kept her together ,she has a metal strapped bottom, thank god. i have read a few bits in the forums about these rootburg machines thats another thing to worry about when she is all ready to hit the water again.does anyone know of a good sparks in the chelmsford area,as she could do with a complete new rewire, thanks
