Hopefully the positions don't tell the whole story as the Open 60s right behind Mike in the placings actually seem to be close to the leading pack!

Mike has chosen a more Southerly course so I hope it pays off.

I'm sure I remember from my dinghy racing days that it's better to stick with the leaders than sail a different course which you think might be better? Mind you, I was always rubbish!

Richard

Virbac and Hugo Boss did just that and they are well in the lead. I think Mike could be trying something or has had to slow down for repairs because he slipped a few places quite quickly. I think the night stint will reveal what's going on.

As of 16:00h GMT little has changed with the front runners, next update at 1900h GMT.

1900h GMT Virbac still strong in the lead with Hugo Boss slipping back a little but it looks like they may have a plan. Mike on Gamesa has slipped back into 8th place with only 9 contenders left in the IMOCA 60.
