I'm following Mike Golding's progress as we worked together for about 10 years until recently. Mike and Bruno crept up to 3rd last night but have now dropped back to 4th. http://www.mikegolding.com/

Mike will also be in the Vendee Globe this time next year (see separate thread).

I cannot imagine being mad enough to set out across the Atlantic from Northern France in November. August would be too late in the year for me!

Lets hope they have some luck Richard.

So, as of 10:00GMT we have Virbac in the lead with Alex in second place and Mike in third place, however, Macif is now in forth place just 1 mile behind Mike while Bureau Vallee slips back into fifth place.

Next update at 13:00 GMT.

10:00 H GMT, no change at the front but Mike on Gamesa has slipped into 7th.

Hopefully the positions don't tell the whole story as the Open 60s right behind Mike in the placings actually seem to be close to the leading pack!

Mike has chosen a more Southerly course so I hope it pays off.

I'm sure I remember from my dinghy racing days that it's better to stick with the leaders than sail a different course which you think might be better? Mind you, I was always rubbish!
