I am considering buying a farm trailer so I can have my Macwester 30 towed by a tractor 6 miles to my home so I can work on the boat over winter. Has anyone ever used a farm trailer to carry a 5 tonne boat?

I wouldn't recommend it.Farm trailers don't usually have any suspension, could risk damage due to jarring of potholes.Try adtrader.com,and put galvanised in the search box, should find plenty of resonably cheap boat trailers.good luck.

A friend of mine moved his Macwester Wight motor sailer on an ordinary lorry low loader type trailer. All strictly illegal and done at crack of dawn on a Sunday morning.

It could be more economical to get a boat transport company to give you a price.Saves a lot of hassle and they are insured.
