Thru hull fitting

That’s worth at least a pint👍
Tomorrow I will see what the order time is...should be before Sat...might have to delay launch soon.
Tomorrow I’m off to another Uship in Bormes Les Mimosas to see if they have anything in stock

I think, that the easiest thing to do is to remove the skin fitting and plug the hole, etc. You can then remove the generator and associated parts, making the boat lighter and using less fuel on your travels to other bays / harbours. It will also save you the stress of driving around visiting various shops looking at skin fittings. Just think, more time with the dog and wife ....

And how am I supposed to charge my Torqeedo ? I take environmental issues very seriously

Hello Vas...I was wondering when you would join us
tbh Bouba, saw the title last week, read the first few posts, figured out how it will pan out and then was too busy (exams week) to follow...
mind, haven't read the lot, and to be on topic, all my thru hulls and seacocks are Trudesign, various sizes from 3/4 to 2.25 (iirc), NONE has the securing / whatever plate, too cheapskate to pay money for them. Boat still floating after 7+yrs
😁

I am also planning to replace all the fittings with Trudesign and all my anodes to aluminum...it would have all been done by now in a leisurely fashion but we only just came back from England

How long has it been on the hard ?
Is it your annual ?
Beyond annual...it got held up by covid...but luckily all the anodes still had some life in them...we put it on shore just before we went to England for three weeks...and we are hoping to launch at the end of the week...so a month in total...the Cummins engineer is scheduled to come next week and then we should be good for the season (she stays in the water all year round)

Bouba, I’ve got all those components on board ready to replace my engine intake. I’ll take an ‘idiot’s guide’ photo for you later of how it all goes together.

Well I had a stroke of luck this morning…I went to another chandlers and he had some parts in stock !!!
He didn’t have the guard (which Vas assures me is only for wusses and whimps) and the hose connection isn’t Trudesign and maybe too big for my hose (but I think I can get an off the shelf part from another manufacturer easily if this one doesn’t fit)
So..test fitting this afternoon and if it goes well I will start the installation 😎 but an ´idiots guide ´ is always appreciated 👍🏻🥰

Bouba,

careful with flimpsy, thin walled plastic and not really grp hose tails that are meant for above waterline thruhuls!
Get something substantial, some of them are scary!

V.

PS. doing my best to up the thread count :)
PPS. I'm serious get a quality tail!!!

Yes or it could end up a tale of woe. He can use his cheap but order a True design one and fit it later.

Once the thru hull and seacock is fitted, I can turn it to close and there will be no water ingress... it only needs to be open when the generator is running
