Thru hull fitting

I think the parts are available and will fit together...that’s why I need them in hand to play with...I can’t trust doing it virtually with such limited technical information
The only part that is missing and I can't see a Trudesign one is the 23 to 42mm hose tail reducer or fitting

So it can’t be done without making a bigger hole in the hull ?
47mm ie the one and a half inch BSP fitting will go into your existing hole which is only a couple of mm bigger. Your only problem seems to be connecting to your 42mm ID hose as all TD fittings are max 38mm. 42 mm is a very odd size are you sure about it.

Are you absolutely sure that the hose is 42mm and not 38 mm?

I didn’t take it off to get the inside diameter...but the external diameter is 47 mm...and as best I can estimate it ...42 mm inside...it’s possible I am wrong...it’s incredibly hot in the lazaret

Even though getting jubilee clips off is easy..pulling off a hose that has welded itself to the fitting can be a nightmare..especially in the heat and cramped conditions below the waterline....then you have to put it back on

Well that's the limiting factor if it's 38mm ID then you are good to go, two solutions, you take it off and measure properly or you go and find some in a shop and measure but the best and obvious thing is take it off and measure it. Glad to be of help.

If you want to do it that is what you are going to have to do.

I know...but I was hoping to do it as a one off...not for a look see
The positive thing is that if it's 38 mm which I strongly suggest it probably is then you have everything to sort it as long as the stockist has all the one and half inch parts.

The other option is what is your generator and does the installation habnd book have the size of the fitting or is it the water separator?

I'd be very surprised if a flexy hose with an outer diameter of 47mm has an inner diameter of 42mm; a wall of 2.5mm is improbably thin, more likely to be ~4mm giving a nominal 39mm inside. Boiling water and hose clips will seal that on a 38mm hose tail.
