Long shot - does anyone know where I can buy specific sizes of softwood bungs instead of the packs of mixed sizes. I have a pack of mixed sizes on board but my insurers now require me to have 'tapered softwood emergency bungs provisioned in situ' and I need the following, which seems to require several packs of bungs most of which would be surplus and have to be jettisoned to save precious space (yes, I know it's a lot of bungs, I sometimes think the only reason I only have 28 thru-hulls is there wasn't room for any more)
Bungs 3/4”
Bungs 1”
Bungs 1.25”
Bungs 1.5”
Bungs 2”

Make your own from a bit of softwood from your closest DIY store A simple rasp would shape to a close shape taper
Nice idea.
I've long ago given up being optimistic about how long it takes to do things. I'd say hand shaping 12 minutes per item x 28 = 5 hours. Our business has a lathe, Colchester Triumph 2000, much better way to do it. Setup, turning time, and clearup about 3 hours and a pile of wood shavings mixed up with the swarf etc. Not how I want to spend my time.

I do have a wood lathe as well as a small metal lathe and having access to a lathe would be the better way to do it and to have some spares just in case

Just put a sheet over the lathe bed so the wood chips fall int the sheet and can be remover with the sheet and so they do not get mixed up with the swarf.

You could also use a vacuum cleaner sucking the wood chips from the turning tool while turning the wood tapers to reduce clean up time
