Things that please you...

...any fule no that it is brown sauce with black pudding.... :D

...inpired idea for a thread though - has put me in a good mood....

...for the record - real ale, my by little boat, a cigar (with each beer), O'Hagans sausages, and any sunny afternoon with a force 3 in Chichester Harbour....

Sticking to sailing things ....

picking up the mooring undersail after a day of no-engine .... cos it's meant we've had good wind all day!

The "can-do" approach of most of the people I meet, especially those engaged in maritime activity.

Those with a positive approach to life, not deterred from its enjoyment by allowing anything to get on their nerves. (You wouldn't know it if you were new to Scuttlebutt, mind. Posts about things getting on their nerves outnumber the "I don't let that happen" brigade by 3 to 1.)

Just been reminded as well, night sailing.

The world seems completly different at night, phosphoressence (spelling sorry), less boats around and the feeling that there is noone else around and that light starlight on the horizon as you become bleary eyed and sailing becomes the one pleasure that no one can stop me from doing.

Couldn't agree more. Especially alone at the helm. I love night sailing.

Also ghosting along early in the morning when the mist is lifting.

The first cup of tea in the morning. After that things generally start to go downhill :(

[Sign seen above a stores counter in the USA, not visible to customers,

"Isn't it a lovely day?
Just watch some b*****d louse it up!

As others have said,

My wife
Our children
Our friends
Our Boat
Job Satisfaction (I'm lucky to have a great job with lots of this!)

Also, that moment when you're out of the harbour and you get the sails up and drawing nicely, turn the donk off and the boat comes alive.

Enjoying a bowl of chilli con carne with rice while off-shore passage making in favourable sailing conditions under moon light.

Tried it a few weeks ago with my wife of 4 days. Sadly, she was enjoying the view over the transom at the time. She hasn't forgiven me yet!

All I need is a remedy for sea sickness and happiness awaits.
