The definitive list of Raggie acceptable Mobo's

No you see, I am not wanting classic superyacht esk,...... Cantieri di Pisa, Italcraft or the Versilcraft is just not an ex raggie boat whatsoever....
They all started with wooden boats..... :)

..well had a look at the list...
a few are made in the states.... that is a real no no for raggies.
Lets face it the states produce some dreadful sailing boats... no really, they do.
... & at the end of the day raggies will not have the interest to trawl through some of these lesser know Mobo's, they will just go for what they in there limited knowledge of

Crickey Firefly (nice boat by the way), well done, you've been busy, checking up on all those craft. Sorry, didn't mean to give you so much work!

Re above - "States made, a no no" - interesting.
The Eastbays I think are US - I mean Far East built (as are Nordhavns), and people say that they're beautifully put together; and purposeful with their Deep-V Hunt hulls and enclosed wheelhouses. Some other posters have mentioned the fine built Grand Banks types, made I understand by the same folk as Eastbay.

And 'the States produce some dreadful sailing boats' - ah, that's a discussion for another time/place!

Sailing-folk won't research the best craft for their needs? Ah, I guess some will be looking for a capable boat. And will search high and low!

PS - nice pic of a Levi - thanks very much.

I thought those sweeping statements would get a comment ;) :D

... indeed Nordhavn & Grand Banks ... Eastbay... superb boats

...... I just think that if you are a raggie you already know what Mobo's you find acceptable and like. I know I did. So therefore when it came to buying one that's what I went for.....

I still would love Little Nel, if anyone has been to Island Harbour and seen the beautifully presented Nelson 34 will know what I am talking about...

not quite

The 'you' was plural referring to a population. Individual 'you' may be superior or inferior. No evidence either way... yet
We are all born equal, but we soon get over it.:)

You were spot on with the Faireys. As a boy I was in love with Lady Violet Aitken.

I'm a big fan of Faireys but, unless I'm very much mistaken, this photo shows Lady Vi at the helm of "Ultra Violet" ...... which was a Bertram :D.

My old man was an acquaintance of Sir Max Aitken (he sold him several boats), and I met Lady Vi on a couple of occasions. Istr that Private Eye used to refer to her as Lady Violet "I like my men dark and dirty" Aitken though I never got the chance to find out if this was true. In my defence, I was about 13 at the time...... :D
