Can anyone give any advice on the best sized tender or the type of tender most suited to a new 2.5hp four stroke outboard engine? I would like as big a tender as possible that this small engine can cope with. I was thinking about 2.3 or 2.6m inflatable with inflatable floor. Any experience to share or advice appreciated...

a 2.5 hp will push any tender you care to buy. i have an avon of over 3m and can't use full throttle because the back end bends too much.

I have a Suzuki 2.2 which pushes along an Avon 280 tender along quite smartly, even when fully laden. Tender is fittted with a wooden roll-up floor and with one-up it will plane quite happily. I believe there was an inflatable keel option which would have proved useful for increased directional stability. Would certainly recommend an Avon (- although rather pricy) for their durability and longevity.javascript:void(0)
