Hi All, I am looking for information about a tank level sensor that appears to comprise two parallel metallic foil strips stuck to the outside of the tank with two matching strips on the inside. These strips each have a wire that leads to some sort of junction box which is in turn wired through to the gauge readout. I am familiar with the swinging or sliding sensors that fit through an opening in the top of the tank but I have not come across the twin strip type before. What does the forum think or know?

Is the tank level sender for a diesel tank or water tank.

There is a diesel level sender that is bass on a capacitive sender that measures the level by the change in capacitive of the level sender as the fuel level changes.

I have a capacitive type based on a rod inside a tube and in my case, it has some electronics to convert the capacitance to the output required by the gauge either resistance of 4 to 20mA
