What chart plotting software do people use on their tablets other than Navionics? Any recommendations? I know most people like Navionics but who else offers good functionality at a decent price?

+1 have been using that combination for over 7 years on Android tablets. One off payment of £8 for the app with AIS overlay then I pay £24 a year for all the raster charts of the UK and near continent for two devices. If you don't pay for the updated charts on subsequent years you can still use the old charts as they do not expire. Both the app and charts are purchased from the Visit My Harbour website. Highly recommended.Visitmyharbour do raster charts for UK using Marine Navigator.
Is it just me or does anyone else find their website a bit of a challenge to navigate? Doesn't instill much confidence in the end product. I will try it again though ?.Visitmyharbour do raster charts for UK using Marine Navigator.
it's not just you but it is certainly worth mastering the android app access and chart downloading from their site.Is it just me or does anyone else find their website a bit of a challenge to navigate? Doesn't instill much confidence in the end product. I will try it again though ?.
Nope. It was so bad I did not buy the product. Is it just me or does anyone else find their website a bit of a challenge to navigate? Doesn't instill much confidence in the end product. I will try it again though ?.
Which kind of makes the point that …… to a degree it depends where you are planning to sail. NV was good for the Baltic.Nope. It was so bad I did not buy the product.
I'm actually a big fan of NV Charts you buy their paper charts, it is more like an atlas or book format, and you get the electronic version on up to five devices for free.
They were going to do the entire UK coastline, but since the UK left for a parallel universe have put their plans on ice as there are few yachts making the jump into hyperspace and cruising the UK these days.
Its not just you...it is a mess like something that the civil service made up to catch you out...Is it just me or does anyone else find their website a bit of a challenge to navigate? Doesn't instill much confidence in the end product. I will try it again though ?.
If its an Android tablet, OpenCPN is now available for it via the Google Play Store.
and if you purchase a paper chart pack you can get access to the digital charts free for a yearImray Navigator suits my needs nicely
Memory map also works with Android...If you have an iPad have a look at Memory Map. Their raster charts are identical to the UKHO paper ones. Pay for the Pro version and you can overlay AIS info over Wi-fi.
With Memory Map you can also download Ordnance Survey maps and many others.
Yes, but I found it very difficult to get on with. It didn't seem to manage the quilting/tiling properly. Eg heading East down Sea Reach, it won't show you where you're going until you've got there, at which point you can't see where you've been (if that makes sense).Visitmyharbour do raster charts for UK using Marine Navigator.
