DURING A RECENT SERVICE I HAVE FITTED A NEW WATER PUMP TO ERADICATE A PROBLEM WITH IMPELLOR FAILURE ON A YANMAR 3HM35.
AM NOW SEEING WHAT APPEARS TO BE STEAM FROM THE EXHAUST ALTHOUGH WATER IS BEING DISCHARGED ALSO.
THE ENGINE FIRES FIRST TOUCH OF THE BUTTON AND RUNS SMOOTHLY WITH PLENTY OF POWER. STEAM VOLUME INCREASES WITH REVS.
ENGINE DOES NOT OVERHEAT AND ENG ROOM IS A COMFORTABLE TEMPERATURE. TEMPERATURE ALARM IS WORKING
ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

Either its colder outside, or there is less water reaching the engine than before. If the previous impellor broke up, there could be bits lodged in the cooling system reducing the flow. Otherwise is there some other obstruction in the inlet/outlet of the new pump installation?

If you are using a rubber 'diesel hose' type exhaust there is a risk of overheating and damaging it if there is insufficient water coolant, even if the engine is operating correctly.

On the other hand some engines normally do give off steam in the exhaust.

It could just conceivably be white smoke - which is unburnt atomised fuel, but there would likely be power loss or other symptoms as well.

have a look at your anti-syphon device - it may need a service. Mine was doing exactly as you describe and after a fiddle with the anti-syphn the temperature dropped as more water started being injected into the exhaust. You could try bypassing it and see if more water comes out - but mind it doesn't suyphon water back into the engine.
Amazin what an expert I've become as I watched Parahandy with his bum in the air and his head resting on the heat exhanger tracing the problem!

Don't want to spread despair and gloom but this was the symptom I had just before the head gasket went in a big way. It looked like water had been crossing the head gasket from cooling channel to cylinder for a while before it got bad enough to kill the engine. This was on an old MD7A so may not be relevant.
