Standard Horizon HX300 Problem

I have a Standard Horizon HX300 handheld which has worked well since I got it. Recently however, when I select DW, the display seems to be scanning so quickly that it just looks like the number 88 constantly flickering.

Anybody had anything similar and if so, is there a fix?

IAre you giving a looooong press of the DW/Scan button. A short press selects scan which displays as you describe.

Bloody he'll, as simple as that. It's now doing what it should.
