I need to find a fabricator to make up a new pulpit in ss. It doesn't need to be pretty or even polished. It just needs to be cut, bent and welded to my design.

Can anyone recommend one in Norfolk or Suffolk? Low cost is a major factor if such a thing exists!

Hi John
I would recommend EastCoast Stainless Ian andRob They have done several jobs for me ,using good quality materials good workmanship at reasonable prices.

I used Fox's a couple of years ago to weld a grab rail onto the sprayhood frame, made to my jig and pattern and reasonable price. Better price in fact than Mr Stainless(although they have also done good work for me in the past), and Fox's was nearer for me.

My experience of Mr Stainless mirrors others, very expensive.

Ian and Rob at East Coast Stainless have been great but because they are reasonable price and good quality, they are very busy. You would need to talk to them about timescales but 100% confident that they will be a good price and you owl later be pleased with the result.

Our pushpit was extended. You can't see the join and it looks like it has always been there.

Derek Harvey at Kings in Pin Mill did me a very nice ss fuel tank last winter. Copied from the old one with all the mods I'd asked for and it fitted like a glove.

Edit, no vat and well priced.

Good ss fabricator (FW Hall) in Norwich opposite the vw garage on Barker St . They do marine stuff but not at marine prices. They have done custom stuff for me .

My friend had a strange experience with Mr Stainless. He wanted a job done that would possibly need two stages of work. My mate made it very clear that he only wanted Mr Stainless to get the materials for the first stage, as it was quite possible that would be enough and wouldn't know until that point whether 2nd stage of work was required. As expected, 2nd stage was not required but Mr Stainless became quite irate that extra materials (that he had purchased regardless of my friends clear instructions to the contrary) would not be paid for.

All very strange. In the end an agreement was reached, and I should state that the work done was of a very high standard, but it seemed a very unusual way to run a business to me.
