Very nice, SD. Am I right in thinking that a few months ago a similar Tigress was featured in MBY in one of those best of its type comparisons? My recollection is that they chose the Pichiotti over an Aquastar Nelson 43 which I frequently see and which always looks a gorgeous boat to me. Best of luck bringing her home.

Yes, you are quite right, they did a feature on them, although this was not one of the two reviewed. She was from the design stable of TT boats and build in the Pichiotti Italian yard.
I understand there was only 40 build generaly with Sabre 275 engines, this one has been re-engined with Cummins 480's so its a bit quick for this style of boat!
Hopefully this weather will abate after the weekend, for a nice relaxing cruise home.

Congratulations - looks a good boat. I had spotted it on the NYA website and was going to have a look at her but I guess not now!!! Probably wouldn't have been for us (SWMBO is focussed on an S41) but I can see why you bought her.

If you are departing from Lowestoft then the Royal Norfolk & Suffolk is just inside the harbour entrance (entrance on the right after the bascule bridge as you come from the inland side) - lovely club house and excellent food for an overnight before setting of for Harwich. Worth checking that they are open on Tuesdays first though.

Not sure if you are familiar with the East Coast but there are several options for the overnighter on the Orwell in addition to Harwich, with Shotley being the first you come across then Suffolk Yacht Harbour at Levington. If you have time for a toodle upriver for around 30-40 minutes then Woolverstone is probably the best location. A 20 minute walk form there takes you to the Butt and Oyster at Pin Mill - real ales and good food.

Thank you for the tips on grub (most important) we are going to poke our nose out of Lowerstoft to see if we like it, if not straight back in to sit it out.
We could eat our way around the coast, back just in time for xmas dinner :)
Any other tips most welcome.

Very kind offer Tim, most appreciated .
I have already got my crew organised, we hope to set off Tuesday morning out to Lowestoft and in to Harwich for the first night, then depending of weather, across the estuary and round, would like to make Brigton, but plenty of safe havens before that if we need them. I'm only doing daylight passages, she is cat A rated cruise at 21ktns, tops at 27ktns.
I have taken all of next week off, so absolutely no rush. If we can't find a weather window, I may well be knocking on your door ! Still buy you a burger either way.....

Safe trip mate will want a good nose around on her
Tim

Looks like the only thing on that new boat of yours thats 30 years old is the builders plate, the whole engine room looks new not just the engines.

Must be the same as those people who re-build Spitfires the only original piece is the name plate.

Thanks mate, its going to be interesting to see how good the Nelson hull is, looks like F5,6,7 so might be a bit fruity !
I'm going to take lots of pictures (if I can) and maybe a video to post on here, so you will virtually on board....
From what I've read, the rougher the seas the fast I should go, the mistake is to slow down.
