I bought a loose footed cruising mainsail from them a couple of years ago,

The quality of the workmanship is first class as is the materials used.

Have had no problems what so ever with it, Delivered on time, I cannot fault them.
Would have no hesitation in dealing with them again. All of course IMHO!

Bought a loose footed cruising mainsail two seasons ago.

Excellent value for money. One of the cheaper quotes I received.

Very happy with the construction / price / delivery. All spot on.

Cant comment on the more 'exotic' sails though I do know that the Sigma 33 OD fleet all use the same laminate sails from Sobstadt.

Regards

Donald

I bought Genesis sails( Genoa and loose footed main) from Sobstad back in 1996 and apart from a disagreement over the delivery time had excellent srevice from the Sails. They fitted the Boat well and were beautifully cut. Five years later when I sold the Boat (Elizabethan 29) the shape was still there. You do need to be a bit more careful about stowing them and not just stuff them into a bag like people do with Dacron. They are more expensive in the first place but with care will keep their shape and drive much longer than Dacron. I get the impression from various Posts on the Forums that sailors appear to have more concerns about the state of health of the engines in their Boats rather than the primary source of power which is of course the sails. You go for it I am sure you will not be disappointed.

I think I might go ahead. I want something that lasts a bit longer than my current sails. After 3 years my UK Tapedrive Genoa is completely shot. Not just a bit bent out of shape but rapidly falling apart. More patch than sail. UK want £1600 for a not very big 22 square metre Genoa. Pricey too.
