With a bit of four by two you could have a double boat?
Best idea probably, couple of cross beams and you'd have a hell of a catamaran !With a bit of four by two you could have a double boat?
Were these the two that were bashing around in the Solent about fifteen years ago? I vaguely remember going out on one, was it a Sunsail hire, or a boatshow treat? The straining noise from the sheets being winched in was impressive.
Yes they were, I think they were the French boatsWere these the two that were bashing around in the Solent about fifteen years ago? I vaguely remember going out on one, was it a Sunsail hire, or a boatshow treat? The straining noise from the sheets being winched in was impressive.
France 1 and France 2Yes they were, I think they were the French boats
All the while AC challengers were expected to sail to the race location, you had a decent sea boat with accommodation. Now they're just oversized dinghies, and about as suitable for family cruising as a Moth is for taking Granny for a trip round the harbour. Not even any use for racing round the cans unless you've got a seriously skilled crew and DEEEEEEEEP pockets.
The boats pictured are not F1&2, but the boats from the GBR challenge of 2002. The challenge folded before the 2007 cup, but they did use the hanger for one hell of a party at Cowes week 2004 if my memory serves me correctly...Yes they were, I think they were the French boats
F1 cars get to race in the final ( provided the drivers do not screw it up first) . I expect there are a few billionaire oil princes that would be more than happy to buy the old ones. Not all AC boats get that far.Shocking isn’t it. After all, Formula 1 cars are so convenient as a family runabout and going to the shops.
To actually answer the question. In this case it seems very likely that the AC75 will be retained, in some form at least, for the next cup. In which case the current boats will have a life in developing the next generation of boats, and developing crew work etc until the next generation are launched. Whether that is with the same team or another, new, team.To the America’s Cup boats that didn’t win.In the old days they could be still be used for cruising
