Ouch! this one seems to be stirring up emotions - I'm sure Peppermint was not trying to be controversial, just witty, and I was too thick to get it. Frankly, I'm a Eurosceptic at the best of times - don't like the thought of the already over clumsy/complicated European Union becoming even more complex to govern.
the real irony of course is that the Turkish WANT to be in , whereas the ones holding the LIB are only doing that for the show&money , come to think of it , isn't that the UK stance about the €C ?
Not qualified to comment on their indoctrination - whatever it may be. What I do know is that a school friend of mine who works in the textile industry in Turkey has witnessed New Years Eve revelery with guns being fired in the air - in the streets. Commonplace I am told.
However, a recent report on a well to do Radio 4 programme suggested that Turkey could be viewed as the engine of the EU economy, given that the average age of the Turk population is several years lower than the EU average.
Sadly this was qualified by the fact that the level of education is considerably lower too, so they won't be supplying too many entrepreneurs then.
Could be a bonus, we need brickies, plumbers and sparkies big style.
