Selling a dinghy

I've got a eastport nesting pram dinghy to sell but don't know where to advertise it. Where would be best and cheapest as its not a lot of money. Adverts seem expensive.
 
If it is less than £400 you're after then the for sale forum here will do. If looking for more than that, I'd use Facebook marketplace and probably a stealth add on here too ?
 
It is more than 400. And I'm so over Facebook and ebay. Tried gumtree. Need something more specific I think

Whether or not you agree with sticking what you had for lunch on Facebook, you really are denying yourself access to a huge pool of potential buyers by not sticking it up there tbh. I never realised gumtree was still going!
 
I had it on Facebook. Paid a couple of quid for something had 2 replys then to be told I wasn't allowed to advertise, not sure why, but they would keep taking the money , so cancelled it.
 
Try ebay, be accurate in your description, lots of photos, payment when sold(not cash on collection) be realistic on your pricing, you can add 'make me an offer' use 'buy it now' not auction though and collection only unless very close.
 
Ebay is a bit short of decent boats of the kind I’m looking for, but I may have found satisfaction on boats and outboards. I’m looking for a baby RIB to use as a super tender. About 3.5m and 20hp. Ebay boats are often silly prices. No sale, no fee, I guess.
 
I once sold a motorbike on ebay and they charged me loads....I also didn't once sell a boat and they still charged me. I got it back once someone explained the terms and conditions...but who reads them ??? same as instructions ? might try apollo duck and boatsandoutboards cheers guys
 
Thanks for your help Apollo Duck is nice and straightforward. Not the time of year to be selling a dinghy I know. But would make a great Christmas present so you never know.

If you sell via ebay with buyer collects, then only accept cash on collection. You will have no proof of postage, and it is easy for a dishonest buyer to claim they never received the item. At this point, paypal will give them their money back...
 
I recently sold an item on ebay and the buyer wanted to give cash on collection but I said I wanted payment through eBay. He said he had been done a while back, paid up front and when he arrived to collect the seller & item had disappeared. I talked with him and I said OK, pay via ebay online after you've seen the item and that is what happened. He agreed it was exactly as the description, paid on his phone and I helped him load it into his van.

Use an eBay classified ad, not an auction. Classified ad is £19.99. No other fees/ charges or commissions.
