I have six, expensive to replace, galvanised bottle screws which are impossible to turn. They've been in the weather for years and won't turn on the threads.
Can anyone suggest something they can be soaked in to free them up?

I had exactly this problem..

a few years ago.

I soaked them in a bowl of diesel for a week or so, with, every few days, a test for the slightest sign of movement.

Then, patiently, backwards and forwards, and eventually they all moved easily.

Soak them in diesel for a couple of days then work them back & forth daily until they free up. Failing that, heat them up(after drying off the diesel!) When reassembled grease the threads well with Lanolin.
