Those of you who had a DVT, did you use a compression stocking and if so how long for?

No stocking; it wasn't mentioned. My DVT was fixed by the initial jags of I don't know what at A&E, delivered daily for 2 or 3 days. The Apixaban was called for because they found clots in a lung.

I think that for any DVT they now insist on oral anticoagulation for a minimum of 3 months.

Wife on apixaban for many years, and warfarin before that. She too acquires mystery bruises which she didn't know she had, and the odd cut needs to be sealed off rather than drip everywhere. Head injuries need to be taken seriously, so long offshore passages should be avoided (but are perfectly possible with basic precautions like wearing a bike helmet on deck).

So agree with others, it's not really an issue as long as you have s ready supply of materials to stop gore going everywhere!
