Sail to power: coming to our senses

Great boat for the med.
If trucking back, include budget for trucking both ways. You’ll never sell it in the UK other than for distress value
Bit of an BL drive an Allegro attitude from the 70 ,s :) walk past the VW and BMW dealer .
Now look at us ?

I think a few nasty outdrive experiences will make a market at home for a 40 something HT shafty .

how fast do these 43 and 46 Pershings go?

and how tall do you need to be to see where you are going

I agree. As an owner of an Italian boat should I ever lose my senses and ship her back home I’d struggle also to sell in the UK.

Not my point of view but that doesn’t change the truth

The smaller ones 43,46 are shafts .50 are shafts or optional surface drives as .
I wouldn’t advocate a Arneson set up to a newbie coming from a sail boat .
Cruise mid to high twenties on shafts .
How ever differently from other “ which boat this size and £ “ threads crucially there’s a proviso the OP added in at the beginning.
Let’s not forget that .
Feels like some reply’s have totally forgot .
It’s that little understood and appreciated word SEAKEEPING.

Compared to similar sized and priced tea tray sterndrive those Pershings have that in spades .
Obviously if they where an extra £100k then that’s different .

But a home brew Targa 47 or “ canvas Camargue 47 or very rare HT Camargue 50 also fits the brief .The Cam 50 HT is a massive boat paps edging on a bit big granted .

In totality of ownership costs over a medium or longer period the alleged difficulty in offloading of a Pershing 43 on shafts in the U.K. or back in the EU will pale into insignificance compared with aged sterndrive.

If the Op was your best mate or brother that’s the advice I,am giving.

Well folks. Decision made. The yacht's going on brokerage with Clipper shortly.

We've decided to take this in three steps... sell; reflect / "research" :) and then buy. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and input, I'll come back when I've got a wodge of cash burning a hole, and/or rather a better idea of what we actually want.

Sealine C390 is what I would go for.
But it's not going to happen unless £20 notes start falling from the sky in large quantities, and even then, I'd have an issue proving the source of the funds.

Brief thread resurrection. My boat is now sold and I've received the funds, so I'm a bit sad today :(
Scala is moving to Denmark. Halcyon are sailing her over to Lemvig for her new owners, starting I think on Sunday.

I think you need a trip to the Southampton Boat show to cheer yourself up.
Or is that like signing up to E-Harmony one week after a Divorce?
