Colin, Talk to Peter Saunders at Northgate Marine on 01502 716657. He is the main distributer and is very approachable, helpful and will give you honest advice. Tfhe clever bit about them is that they flip up at planing speeds and so can be used on rivers or out at sea. If you are confined to rivers you could probably get the same results with a bolt on S/S plate behind the leg. They should be no more vulnerable than the leg itself is so unless you moor stern to a bathing platform should not make any difference. It may be worth checking that you have not got any excessive play in your steering system and that the little trim tab under the cavitation plate if aligned correctly on your outdrive. If you have two it should be less critical. If all is well with the steering try relaxing a bit at the wheel, ourdrive boats do tend to wander at low speeds but if you do nothing they will often zig zag gently in the right direction. Im not allowed to suggest a couple of pints of Abbots now with the new drink piloting laws but that used to have a double effect:- 1, it relaxed you and 2, zig zagging seems quite normal.;-) Regards,

Eddie
