Does anybody know the name/address of yacht riggers in La Coruna?

I'm going out there on tuesday to bring my boat home, and I've just been informed by the "Technical Director" that my boat has suffered damage from another boat.

The marina staff were going to tow her out to a swinging mooring (after they had inspected it) the day I left 4 weeks ago, but it sounds as if they've left her in the marina where another boat has come alongside, it's mast has come into contact with mine in the swell, breaking the backstay at the top.

Luckily I had the topping lift and the main halyard tight on the end of the boom, and the main sheet tight, so the mast stayed upright.

I'd like to have the name and address of any riggers there so that I could just take both bits of the old stay to get a new one made, as I'm short on time.

Help!!

My knowledge is a few years out of date, but the REAL CLUB NAUTICO themselves will arrange a full range of repairs for yachts in their marina, if that is where you are. I've had sail repair, engine repair and an emergency lift-out fixed by them. I think that, like UK marinas, they are a bit iffy about customers arranging outside contractors themselves.

Corunna generally is an excellent place to get things fixed, as most yachts need the odd patch-up after crossing Biscay.

Indeed it is Real Club Nautico, and I've sent them an email to ask them to sort it out for me, so hopefully they'll get it sorted soon.

Next time I'd go to the new marina round the corner and pay the extra money (twice the price)

Apperently they are going to re-vamp the whole place as the swell is really bad in the marina.

If anybody has details of any riggers I'd appreciate it, just in case the RCN boys don't manage to sort anything for me.

Cheers,

Stu

My boat is arriving in La Corunia tomorrow with my Dutch skipper on board, who is also the Mageiver of boat repair men. He charges about 15 pounds per hour and will probably fix your problem for you.

The boat is called Prima Donna. (no jokes please) And his name is Tom
