Trying to replace foressil furling line on a Jeanneau 43DS (2005). While it's knotted at the end on the drum it also appears clamped bit can't see how to loosen the clamp.

I assume other Jeanneau's of similar vintage have the same make of furling but no name visible on drum.

Advice appreciated

How to post photo from android phone
Apart from other suggestions, click on the photo in the gallery and share it with yourself via email and it then gives the option to resize the image.

You've reminded me, must attend to mine, there is still half a drum of line on it when it's furled. Should only be 3-4 turns.

If you want to show real detail in a photo ... upload the photo from phone to hosting site such as IMGUR and then paste the link here ...

Attaching to a post means reader has to open the file ... not so easy for some ...

I have a suspicion it’s not a furlex by Selden 300 or 400 type ? If it is a look on website. Jeaneau perhaps fit other makes but maybe try jeaneau owners forum ?

Looking at the Facnor catalogue I can see that jwilson hit the nail on the head - thanks. I was going to e mail the photo to my computer to resize it etc etc.

However the part where the furling line seems stuck is the part from the expoded diagram as the "articulated fairlead" it sits inside the drum and i assumed it somehow clamped the fairlead against the inside face of the drum.

Facnor info is great in saying how wonderful they are and how to install them but doesnt seem to cover "how to remove the furling line to wash it!"

Will have another look today laying on deck and with a torch but beginning to think the line is swollen and jamming in the "articulated fairlead"

I can move it a few inches both ways so not clamped completely tight.

Anyone else removed this rope from Facnor furler?
