Ration packs.

I reckon a sail to south of France in the summer to stock up like a King sounds like a very good idea! When I was in Baiona (before Brexit I summered in Galicia for a couple of years) the Galicians do an amazing tin of sausage, pork, turnip tops and boiled potato. It's the national dish for the region. They came in single serving and double. The quality was amazing. It was like fresh. I got one and the next day went back and got a lot more. All gone now.
Called Cocido Gallegos, not to be confused with cocido Madrilena!.........chorizo will keep hanging on it string also tasty fried with egg and chips or as with crusty bread

After a quick Google... Yes! Cocido Madrilena in the tin is disgusting! But everyone tries it I think - because the picture looks so goo.
Cocido is the Galician Sunday dinner,or it used to be.The remaining liquid is known as Caldo and last best part of the following week asa starter,so bars do Caldo but it’s much more than just the let overs

I visited Galicia 3 times and spent two amazing summers there. Lots of Irish boats :) Galicia is very civilised. Imho best place for a boat if living in the UK.

Parsley Box - Homepage

I've just ordered some of these folks meals, apparently keep 6 months without refrigeration. Don't have a microwave on board but reckon many, if not all, could be gently heated in a pan on the cooker.
Looking forward to trying them and will report back in due course.
There is a header to the forum about watching out for fake news & I regret I did not heed it & persuaded the wife, last week, that as she was unable to buy anything from the supermarket, that we should go the the "parsley box" jokers
We have just tried the LARGE "liver & bacon" & the "minced beef & vegetables."
The wife could not find the liver & bacon & found it so disgusting she had to chuck it after the first couple of spoonfuls.
I had the "beef" version which comprised some brown "gravy" & some lumps of potato. The taste is still lingering as I type this
Utter rubbish & a waste of money
My recommendation------DO NOT BUY THIS CARP

Tins of Creamed Rice and Custard are great comfort foods. Cheese is a must! Parmesan keeps well, also these individually portioned cheese portions are expensive but being individually packed last well.
A lot depends on what cooking facilities you have, we only have a two ring Origo stove and the thing we craved for on a long(16 day passage) was Toast.
Found a great thing in Ireland, it's made by Knorr but seems to be made for the Irish market.. a dehydrated mashed potato and bacon pot, just add hot water, great on a long cruise.
As for Compo rations, my memories of British Army compo rations was that you seemed to end up with constipation for 2-3 days then it all comes at once and you feel as if the World is dropping out of your bottom.
We have an Origo hob and for toast we have a gadget called a Diablo which works well.

Poignard, thanks for the suggestion of the Diablo, will look around for one, but as with the rest of the country I'm in enforced isolation, I can indulge in my craving for toast, Heaven only knows when we'll be back o n the water so I have a bit of time before acquiring the Diablo.

You would do far better with a ridge Monkey. (the diablo is round & one loose half the bread for starters). I have both the sandwich toaster & the XL version. The toaster also gets used for burgers sausages bacon etc, the XL will do a full english. There are loads of You tube videos on the 3 models.I would not bother with the largest one. But for a toasted sarnie one cannot beat the basic toaster. You also get the advantage of 2 frying pans in one.
