Still space left on her maiden voyage if you're quick. Also intersting to note that P&O are offering the biggest discounts I have ever seen. How about 55% off most of next seasons cruises, including summer and christmas? Perhaps QM2 is already generating a bit of over capacity in the UK cruise market.

I often wonder about these discounts, or at least, the so called full fares. Booking last August, we got 45% off an outside cabin with balcony on P&O's Oceana, for a two week Caribbean cruise (we fly out this Friday). The 55% offer seems to apply to the difficult to shift cabins i.e. inside cabins with no windows.

However, it is certainly possible today to get 45% off a similar cruise in the Spring of 2005, (and that's on 'premium' outside cabins with balconies, or indeed one of the mini- suites). It seems to me that offering this level of discount for a cruise 15 months away suggests the "discounted" price is the norm, and the brochure price is only there to fool you into thinking you are getting a bargain.

This will be our first cruise, all part of Mrs Nicho's post op rehabilitation, though we have friends who go every year, and who insist we will also get hooked on the 5 star lifestyle. We'll see......

Discount is 45% offered by P&O (www.pocruises.com) plus an additional 10% offered by agent. I use www.gillett-cruises.co.uk but to be honest most agents should give you 10% on top of cruise operator discount.

Agree that you should NEVER pay brochure price. However, normally the best you'll get at this time of year is 30% discount on selected cruises plus the agents discount of 10%. These offers are 45% plus 10% on PEAK season cruises.
