What are the advantages and disadvantages of the various finishes one can apply to new teak/holly plywood internal floorpanels.

I swear by Burgess Woodsealer - marvellous stuff, apply in any conditions, even to wet wood, it's non-slip, easy to touch up and not expensive!

Be careful of glossy varnish as it looks great but is like ice if wet!

We have glossy teak & holly floors throught our boat and have never had any problems with slipping. The glossy surface looks great, is easier to keep clean and has been maintenance free now for 13 years, although there are a few scuff marks that need sanding and touch up.

We have some small rugs in high traffic areas with that rubbery mesh stuff under them so they don't slip.
