I have a Northstar model explorer 550 Plotter working ok on its own (electronicly identical to Navman 5505) with a Navman model 7100 VHF Radio also working ok on its own.
Having checked wiring and plotter set up I am still not getting the GPS position on the Radio display.
I have set plotter setting to NEAMA output but still nothing.
Note:Northstar is manufactued by Navman !! in same place.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Error in wiring instructions...

Some Navman 7100 radios were supplied with wiring instructions which were incorrect! See here for the correct wiring.

Re: Error in wiring instructions...

Make sure that the GPS is outputing in the same NMEA version that the VHF is expecting to receive. There is normally a software setting to change this.

If all wiring is correct then make sure the baud rate is set correctly (rate at which data is exchanged). If it isn't at the right one it won't play with your plotter.
