Plastic Owls

When my girlfriend moved into a new place her neighbour strongly objected to our feeding the birds- which seemed daft as the place is surrounded by trees - my answer was an owl with a PIR sensor on the fence, so it watches him go up and down his garden :)

I can attest to neither herring gulls nor starlings being perturbed by (small-ish, green) rubber snakes in Brighton. Maybe I should have used a large adder or something more authentically British? On the plus side, the turnstones seem to stick to the pontoons, snakes or no snakes.

That comes as no surprise. The gulls in Brighton are perturbed by very little. I passed by one that had claimed some chips and the look he gave me said very plainly that I might get away with one, but it would be at the cost of an eye.
