My Mirage 28 has green perspex panels running the lenth of the coachroof sides. Where the windows are, the perspex looks black, but where the perspex covers the coachroof moulding (which is off-white) is is a lurid green colour. I'd like to paint or somehow cover the perspex in off-white to match the coachroof, so that only the see-through windows show, and the lurid green is covered up. Any suggestions as to how to do it?

take off window, mask bits to stay windows try a v.small patch on the underneath with a fine sandpaper and see if this shows through. If the results are pleasing use a shuffle sander and a fine paper to etch the underside to a uniform appearance. Alternatively, when you have the window off, throw it away and fit new clear polycarbonate!!

Polycarbonate, though the toughest of materials with exceptional impact resistance is soft and scratches easier. It also weathers badly (except Marguard which costs a fortune). Best stuff is Perspex which is an acrylic for marine apps
