Anyone know of a company in the solent area where I can get my current single piece perspex wash board cut into two manageable pieces, with a nice chamfer between the two so as not to allow water in?

Thanks in anticipation.

Check your clearances first. When they cut the material you loose the thickness of the saw blade and the any gap under your hatch cover will increase. May cause a problem if you have a lock at the top. Had to chuck a wooden one away doing the same thing some years ago.

If you can get another strip of perspex you could glue it on to the lower edge of the top one to create a weatherproof lap.( remember to leave enough room at the sides so the washboards still slide into their slots).

There is a company near portsmouth which sometimes advertise in PBO. They did a brillant job cutting our replacement windows and when i was talking to them they claimed to make wash boards for some large boat manufacturers (examples were on display). Think their name was "talking plastic" but if you want more details send me a PM and I will look for their details in our paperwork.

We used to play them back in the 60s...might still have mine in the loft. Mine was made out if galvanised tin and my mum wanted it back on wash days...Perspex ones now...time marches on ...:)
