Osmosis

My boat is always lifted out for the winter period (1Dec to 31Mar). this gives chance for all the usual work to be completed but also to allow the hull to dry out. With today's technology is osmosis a problem with new boats or is it ok to leave them in the water all year round?

More and more boats appear to be left in year round now than in the past.

A lift out to the hard standing every two years instead of annually seems to be favoured by some as well.
