Absolute rubbish. Again. Find me an official study that says this. The governments are now raising tuna fishing limits because tuna and orca numbers are on the increase. That's a fact not a page from the internet written by people to make their business look ecological and attractive to the public. They are a marine tourism company.

and, quite hilariously, _oversupply_ of tuna has recently been suggested by some "experts" as a motive for the interactions

the idea is that there are now so many fish, that the orca don't need to spend as much time catching them.., so they get bored.., and as we all know, an idle mind is the devil's workshop...

generally, snakes are not protected in the USA. I don't think any venomous snakes are protected.

Yes, some people kill them.., but most people do not kill them.

I see venomous snakes when I hike; mostly copperheads.., and they are not in the least bit aggressive.

I have never had an "interaction" - they usually just sit there so i can take pictures.

rattlesnakes can be a bit more ornery, but it's not as if they are going to chase you down. Nearly all bites happen when people step on or near, them, try to pick them up, or stick their hand close when scrambling up rocky outcrops.
Rattle Snakes may not be protected but I understand you need a licence should you wish to for some weird reason trap and collect one.

in some states, if you want one (any snake) as a pet, you need a license - same as with dogs...
Quite a while ago I was working in the States and a guy I knew was from Texas and he caught and collected Rattle snakes from what I remember he had to get a licence to take one from the wild and it had to be a certain size.

In some Portuguese marinas when there are very large waves at the entrance they close the marinas / harbours nothing whatsoever to do with Orcas and it's not uncommon throughout the world to have harbours closed for entry and exit due to weather conditions.

Have you ever been on a boat?
Darling I think you may have forgotten about webby complaining about areas being closed because of this problem.

Seen as this has been going on for a number of years and the authorities have not been looking to close at some of the deterrent activities going on.
Then to much noise about kill and maim might just provoke them into action.
That is likely to be to the determinat of the yachts not the Orcas.
As for the marinas then the yachts can be replaced with stink pots.

I am certainly not your darling and you are going to have to remind me of any such post by Webby ( Link please)

All the animals you listed will happily kill you. The orca do not.

There are Web sites that show the current location of the orca . As some have found out ' ignore that information at your own peril.
Just shows how much you don't know.

I have no dog in this fight, but RH didn't say quite what he's quoted as saying:

An RYA officer (that has probably never set foot on a boat ) making a stupid suggestion is not areas being closed. Now run along sunny and stop telling fibs, it will get you into trouble.

I have said that I was mistaken about the area being closed.
But if you knew your maritime law but as you no longer have a boat due to you advanced years have probably forgotten that the relevant authorities have the ability to close their international waters for safety reasons.

Seen as this problem has been going on since at least September 2020 and the relevant countries have not changed their basic position why would they do so now?
