I am numpty when it comes to electronics, but
I have a QK AO23 which I bought from London Chart Plotters, I have managed to get it to show AIS on the supplied tablet with VMH Raster charts... all is fine on that side. (although I hate the tablet, funny interface and crap battery life )
I also have Open CPN (paid for version and) Navionics charts on my Android phone ( waterproof almost indestructible), these are vectors which I prefer. I have no issue using the built in GPS on the phone to show the position on the charts, but I am not sure how to get the phone to see the AIS overlay from wifi..
before I go and make a mess of the settings in my Phone can anyone confirm that the one AO23 can feed more than one tablet at the same time,
can a phone listen to two wifi signals at the same time?
can my Android phone use wifi to take the ais overlay and use the internal GPS for location, there are instructions on line for using a combined GPS and AIS over wifi. which suggests that Open CPN can only listen to one source of data.
thanks in advance.
