Hi - I am still on the Lookout for a new to me Boat as I have been out of Boating now for my 2nd Season.
My First boat was a Sea ray 315 with a Kad300 engine and DP-G Outdrive and now wanting something bigger

My Criteria is preferably A Fairline Targa 43 Circa 2002 -2005 with Tamd 74/75 engines.
or maybe a Princess V46 again circa 2002-2004

Open to others but must be on Shafts
Uk Based / Vat Paid.

One Targa 43 in the uk, 175k. No UK V46 but two in Europe at about €180k. Later V48 essentially similar boat, asking UK £250-280k.
If the one in the UK is the same one is what I am thinking I had been in contact with the broker but unfortunately the owner doesn't have service history to hand.
There is a few in Europe which are priced around 130k to 160k, which is around the correct value of them.
Which is what they were pre Covid

I can wait for a good one to come along.

Nope the Broker's reply was - "The Owner is going to see his Marine Engineer to get the History" to which I replied so he doesn't have it to hand ? - This was after waiting around 3 weeks after initially asking about the history.

But that is Something as you say - but limited in terms we had covid that lasted 2 years where not much happened between 202 and 2022.

If it's been up for sale for over a year, it would suggest that that the owner is either not very motivated or quite keen to see it gone, so it might be worth prodding it a bit to see where you get. With a 20 year old boat it's going to be tough to get exactly what you want with a bulging history file to boot so an alternative is buy at a good price after a decent engine survey and start building the history file yourself.

That’s a good tip. In that case then robust survey and engine survey, oil survey etc etc determine the boat’s real and current state of health, might well want to dig deep into the oily bits. Lack of history may well be putting buyers off, which may suggest that a cheeky offer subject to the usual stands a better chance.
