Nothing to announce yet. Got some irons in the fire…It’s an interesting one as I’d prefer the 75s to the D9s any day .
You fixed up yet?

Oh I thought you had your name on the Princess 460 in Chichester .Nothing to announce yet. Got some irons in the fire…
Thank you very much. It would be hard to part with it and would be difficult to find one like that again. I almost feel like we should wait it out and persevere until we do end up in a situation where we are a bit freer with time so we can go when the weather is good rather than relying on it falling on a free weekend but we’ll see, we’re certainly not in any rush. We said we’d make a concerted effort to enjoy it more this year but that has panned out fairly dismally so farThat’s going to make a nice buy for someone. Best of luck.
Really enjoyed reading the blog..lots of useful experience and pictures amongst that lot.. thanks for posting. We are at the 'contemplating selling stage', Sunseeker Portofino 400, 40ft, Twin 420hp Caterpillar 3126TA engines which are still fully supported by Caterpillar, on shafts, big spec. £160k. More info on this blog Sunseeker Portofino 400
It's a lovely boat, everything is as it should be, runs faultlessly, we are just not getting the use out of it I'm sad to say. Never thought that would be us but kids are all grown up, work gets in the way (we both work full time) and the good weather just doesn't seem to be falling on the weekends for the last couple of years it seems which means it's hard to justify the cost when we're not getting the use!!

Yup. Good sleuthing. Deal completed today, didn’t want to jinx it by going public early.Oh I thought you had your name on the Princess 460 in Chichester .
I’ve done some mods on my Cummins engine to allow a freshwater flush of the sea water cooling side, so the engines not sat in salt water for long periods… may help reduce the issues you’ve had with the heat exchangers…Thank you very much for the positive feedback, it’s quite nice and useful for me to keep a blog/record of maintenance, it’s amazing how much you forget otherwise!
It was never really intended for an audience and as such its a bit rough around the edges, just somewhere to mind dump all the info and muse away. I thought it would be quite the boring read for someone. Well done for ploughing through it, there’s a lot of detail in places.
There’s still quite a bit missing that I just haven’t been able to keep up with as much and often as I’d like!
Thanks again
Nito
I’d be interested to see what you’ve done/how you’ve tackled it. I know Volvo do a flush kit with some inhibitor stuff as well, but fresh water flush sounds just as good too and certainly a lot better than not having it. I was tempted to rig something up to the strainers so I could close the sea cocks and then run the engines with a feed going either into the strainers or on the hose on the way to the engine, I’m just not sure a hose will deliver sufficient hence the strainer idea as they would act as a reservoir of sorts!I’ve done some mods on my Cummins engine to allow a freshwater flush of the sea water cooling side, so the engines not sat in salt water for long periods… may help reduce the issues you’ve had with the heat exchangers…
Here it is in practice… T-piece in raw water intake with re enforced hose drawing from a big bucket being filled from shore water supply..I’d be interested to see what you’ve done/how you’ve tackled it.
