Wansworth may be knocking on a bit, and not as sprightly as he was, but surely he hasn't lost so many marbles as to think a stinkpot is a good idea?

Yes, why fret about a 15 year old diesel engine when you can have a huge hundred year old hot-bulb semi-diesel! At least with a wooden hull to maintain you wouldn't have to worry about actually going out on the water.

Gibsea 96 is a great yacht. When I was first in Gib working for a local sailing school, I taught loadsa courses on one. Lovely yacht to sail, very well mannered.
Eventually it was sold on and I delivered the boat from Gib to Corfu via Malta. South of Sicily we had an unforecast storm with the biggest seas I've ever seen. Handled it all superbly and safely.
