I have been watching this boat for a while and if you like buying new and want to get into boating on a budget... This looks like it might be a good way to start

If someone is boating on a budget why buy basically any half tidy hull with a sensible engine for at most half of that price ?

Now just because you have never heard of it does not mean it is no good. There are many countries in the world and much of the stuff we think is good they have never heard of.......... If you don't like that engine you can put something else on instead. It is still a very reasonably priced boat

Hideo are also selling small light 2 stroke outboards.
In particular for the same weight as the lightest 4 stroke outboard - the Suzuki 2.5 you can have a 4hp 2 stroke Hideo.

Asking a genuine question is NOT being critical. Being critical is saying "why are they fitting a £16k boat with unheard of POS"!
The fact that I've never heard of the manufacturer allows me the freedom to ask a question!

Chum of mine very recently purchased a cheapo chinese 6 hp two stroke outboard via ebay .
The paint has already flaked off off the propeller revealing the bare metal underneath.

"It is now illegal to manufacture and sell new two stroke outboards in the UK, however there are lots of them still in use, and they are readily available second hand, this is perfectly legal. The disadvantage with a two stroke outboard is that it will emit more pollution than most other types of outboard." ?

While I buy a lot of second hand stuff it has issues:

1) You need to be handy with a spanner and other tools and skills
2) You need to understand that second hand will normally have issues that will cost you money to fix
3) You are buying older tech from a different time
4) It will have no guarantee
5) Others have owned and used it - Some people dont like that
6) The wheel can fall off.
7) Some people feel there is a stigma to buying second hand (Cloths from a charity shop for example)

As I said I tend only to buy second hand but I do understand others that like to buy new

Not true about being illegal........ Commercially is fine
