why are people pulling out copy of the new law and confronting the PP with it ? have you got spo much money that you cant wait to give it away ?
we back in Greece for a short while , I have got no intention of going to the PP let alone confronting them with some thing that hasn't happen yet or may never happen . or do you just want to be the first to say , I been taxed . only a brit would do such a thing and yes I am British .
"please take your papers to PP to be stamped in/out"
The reason to go to the PP is twofold; 1) to pay for the harbour fees, 2) to get stamped in/out. The new law only makes point 2 obsolete, i.e. you still need to go to the PP to pay for your stay in the harbour/port.
That's what happened to us in Kalymnos. Paid €4.48, quite a bit of faffing about while a PP filled in his own form giving the same information that he could have photocopied from our DEKPA, but no stamp. However, it's only two weeks since our only stamp this year, so they may be working to last year's rules or this year's. Off to Nisiros soon, so then we may find out.
Nothing will change until the structure of the Greek Port Police service gets some uniformity of operation and modernisation (plus a good bit of inter-regional co-operation!).

If he just went around the corner into the bay it would had cos. him nothing , it lot more quiet and the walk to the town would had done him goodJust for info Symi charged a friend with a 40' yacht €20 to go through Customs and two nights mooring for €26 plus the tying up fee €5, so €51 total for a 2 day visit. Tilos and Nisyros did nothing and charged nothing except €5 for electricity hook-up.
