Just finished rerigging my Moody Halberdier - found it easy using stalok type fittings. Got the materials from S3i - found them cheap and v.good to deal with.

I am just rigging a 33ft yacht for the first time.
Mast is 42ft above deck. All 8mm 1/19 ss wire. 10 wires in all, including babystay and rermovable inner.
I used swege terminals at top (8 Gibb T-ball and 2 eyes) then swegeless Petersen fittings at the deck. I had all shrouds supplied with fittings sweged at one end, 5% over length by S3i.
Very impressed with the cost and speed of the service.

The total cost of the standing rigging including turnbuckles with toggles, but excluding backstay tensioner and pelican hooks was in the region of £1100 including carrage. That included about 100 metres of 8mm 1/19 stainless wire.

Their prices are all on their web site http://www.S3i.co.uk

They were certainly the best I could find.

Re: new rigging

Get in touch with Lulu on 00335 46 45 42 02, fax 00335 46 45 27 55 with all the dimensions of your re-rigging requirements.

He runs Marine Technology, the rigging arm of Z-Spars - you'll find his completed, delivered rigging prices lower than buying the materials in the UK.

Alternatively go to David White in Z-Spars (UK), more expensive but still 35% less than local riggers.

They use 14mm swaged fittings with bronze turnbuckles, far better than the 12mm ss that most use.

You can mention my name - it won't help at all, least of all with choleric Dave.

PS, Make sure you get Lulu, he's the only one who speaks English in his department and he'll demand dimensions by fax in metric.

Just ordered new rigging for my Balaton 24.
£326 from Dickies, Bangor for 8 cables of approximate length 60 meters.
That is with swaged terminals. No rigging screws.

My mast is down for the winter so easy to replace the rigging (hopefully). Certainly easy enough to take off the rigging. It has cost less than £13 to send my old rigging to Dickies so they can get exact measurements.

I am planning to use a Norseman fitting on the bottom end of the forestay as this wire will need to be fed down through the furling gear before a threaded stud is attached.
