Just a thought, when we changed the turbos on my KA(M)Ds the link pipe from the turbo to the charge air cooler (CAC) leaked at the CAC end where there is an O ring. It took a bit of fiddling, rotate the compressor housing a little bit and a new O ring to stop it leaking. Can't think of a way right now to test it without running the engine. Might be worth not doing everything mounts wise up properly until you can run the engines and check by hand for leaks around the air pipe joints if access is poor right at the back. When the engines are cold the supercharger runs for about 10 mins - the pressure from that should reveal any leaks from the turbo to the CAC.

Professional is changing a head gasket for me due to a coolant leak. Head etc pulled off 7 weeks ago and still not back on. There is something to be said for taking control of these things yourself but the headgasket was out of my comfort zone. Next time I might think differently though based on your experience. Inspiring stuff Mr G!

What I didnt confess….having read the manual 4 times……was I missed the final stage 5, 90 degree tighten. It was only when checking for a different torque setting i read the 5 th stage bit!

luckily I had only rested the rocker arm setup in place. Amateur you see! ?

I changed the o rings at the cac and turbo end of the link pipe ? I chased an air leak on previous kad42’s. Every join, every seal. Turned out the back of the cac was opening up under boost due to a snapped bolt! Went off like a bomb after sorting that ??
